It is always nice to do a good deed for others. Especially if they are less fortunate. I stumbled upon an incredibly amazing site not long ago and decided to share it with you all, since it is great for the shoe obsessed like me.
When you buy multiple pairs of shoes a month, you tend to acquire a large number over time. However, as the saying goes, “out with the old, in with the new,” you also tend to let older shoes sit in your closet for months, maybe years at a time. Replacing them with newer, more stylish pairs. Why not put those outdated or slightly worn shoes to good use? Every pair of shoes deserves more walking time than we shoe crazies give them. Luckily, Soles4Souls is a great organization that does good in the shoe department!
Soles4Souls provides people around the world with shoes when they need them most. They coordinated relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, netting over 1 Million pairs donated for these disasters. And with your help, they can help even more! When disaster strikes, people just like you and I lose everything they own, this includes shoes (can you imagine losing all 85 pairs at once? A chill just ran down my back). While most of us take advantage of such a trivial thing, losing all your shoes, means walking barefoot through life.
There are MANY drop off locations around the country where you can easily take your slightly worn and unwanted shoes. This not only does good for others, but it also creates more room in your closet for all those new shoes you have been dying to purchase!
Soles4Souls is providing footwear to those who need it most, and they are changing the world, one pair at a time.
