In trying to figure out if these are pants made with built-in shoes (2nd row, 2nd and 3rd to the last), I thought I’d share pics of Givenchy 2010 shoes. Perhaps you can tell me just what you know about these shoes! These wedges are highhhh … and I’m not sure if I could walk in them! They look about five inches or so … Love the design.

Christian Siriano’s Claw Heel

Christian Siriano is the winner of the fourth season of Project Runway and had recently designed the claw heel for the Tony Cohen Fall Show. He has submitted shoe designs for Payless which are available NOW. He’s also created a makeup line for Victoria Secret and has design projects for Alice + Olivia!

Fall into a Gap Boot

Pierre Hardy’s 2009 Gap collection of suede boots have received much buzz. Seems like the public is anxiously awaiting its arrival. They were once slated to debut in mid-September. Now they are said to come out in November. Here are a few pics of the boots that should arrive soon. Just to check the iffy dates, I went into the Gap last week and had not spotted them.

Nonetheless here’s what you are waiting for …

I really like the fold down top and chunky heel. These ought to be really comfortable.

Have you seen shoe accessories–like feathers and bows–dangling from your favorite designer heels, lately? This trend has resurfaced from last season and has proven to be IN for this season. Pricey trend?

Worth Her Weight in Gold

This blog is dedicated to all the women out there who are plus size, plus size runway or just plus-size! When the pressures of weight comes from dear home and media, they still rise as stars and “do it wayyyy BIG.” If we can still applaud the skinny for squeezing in a mini, we can applaud those who endure all sorts and make powerful statements in our society! Here’s to Gabourey ‘Gabby’ Sidibe who will starr in ‘Precious,’ a film inspired by Sapphire’s novel “Push.”

‘Precious’ is a film about a overweight and illiterate 16 year old girl who endures abuse from her mother. Film will be released on Novemeber 6, 2009, just in time for the holidays! And it’s getting much buzz. Oprah and Tyler Perry are promoting this film with much gusto.

Michelle Obama’s Footwear

The media has already taken into account that Michelle Obama is one stylish First Lady! We know that she loves Designer Jason Wu, and the Inauguration 2009 served as a pivotal moment for the designer as she gleamed while dancing in the custom-made white dress.

But what the media almost never comments about is her shoe style. Michelle likes to keep it appropriate and simple. She doesn’t keep up with trends, but you can follow her outfits and find that she keeps a solid-colored heel or flat. Usually her heels are black and pointed, and her flats are normally rounded-squared. New York Magazine also spotted her walking her dog Bo in Pro Keds! I like that retro style, First Lady! Here are a few pics from Michelle Obama’s look book, featured on New York Magazine. You’ll see exactly what I mean.

Commentary on Tim Gunn’s “Gunn Laws”

I just received a copy of Marie Claire and found that Joanna Coles, MC Editor-in-Chief, has given styling genius–Tim Gunn–a medium/monthly column–”Gunn Laws”–to set all the fashion flyaways straight! I love it! It’s a brilliant idea.

He had much to say in the November 2009 issue of Marie Claire about handbags, legwear, cover-ups, and apparel. And I had to agree with all of his advice. Here’s what he said and his suggestions. You can find this article on page 58.

Handbags and Evening Wear

Tim: “Why, oh why do people persist in dragging around luggage-size handbags to evening events?”

I agree, Tim. He then suggests a clutch for the evening events!

I think oversized purses/bags should be left for the high-maintenance day agendas! Depending on your schedule, you may need a place to store an extra pair or shoes or a collar shirt. And where else to put it other than that hobo bag? Great advice.

Tim: “There is no simple way to be on-trend than to don a pair of fashion hoisery.”

Not sure if you read it or not. But in the Fall Fashion issue of Elevate, I advised everyone to get on par with this. This issue was out in 2008. Now the trends persists! I absolutely love colored tights. In fact, I was thinking that it makes more sense to shop for accessories this week which will include purchasing a fab pair of marigold hoisery than to do more jean shopping! Gold pairs great with the basic black dress that Tim Gunn refers to in his apparel advice. Find the below at American Apparel.

Oh, Tim, are we like minds or what?! Ladies, black is slimming and chic. The classic black dress will never fail you! I own more black dresses than any other color because it’s classic! It’ll never be a “fashion no-no.”
