My newest guilty pleasure just happens to be yet another reality tv show, “The World According to Paris.” As in Paris Hilton, not Paris, France. Who knew Ms. Hilton was so worldly? The show offers a closer look at the ‘real’ life of Paris, behind the the glitz and glamour and a peek into her everyday life, from house hunting to hobnobbing. From her over-the-top bright pink Bentley to her weight loss woes, “The World According to Paris” does not disappoint. Know what else doesn’t disappoint? Well a pair of Paris Hilton heels of course.
One of my newest obsessions is the Nate Berkus Show, interior designer of former Oprah fame. Not only does he feature numerous bloggers and designers (even some representing the Queen City!), he also has a great regular fashion segment featuring Lilliana Vasquez from the popular fashion blog Cheap Chicas. Lilliana is all about style on a budget, so I was thrilled last week to see her sporting heels.com’s newest affordable brand, Michael Antonio.
“The fact is, sometimes it’s really hard to walk in a single woman’s shoes. That’s why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.” Carrie Bradshaw
Been there, done that! This is by far my favorite episode of Sex and the City because, well, I have literally been in Carrie’s shoes. Several years ago, I was at a party at a friend’s house after a concert and had taken off my beloved silver Steve Madden wedges. When my husband and I got ready to go home, my wedges were nowhere to be found. After searching everywhere for my shoes, I ended up going home barefoot and bitter that I had misplaced my favorite shoes.
Days later I found out my shoes had actually been STOLEN by someone at the party (and seriously, who in their right mind steals someone’s shoes) and I knew exactly who that someone was. While I ended up getting my shoes back, Carrie Bradshaw was not so fortunate as her $485 silver Manolo Blahnik stolen stilettos never turn up. When Carrie asks the host to reimburse her for the stolen shoes, her friend “shoe-shames” her for wasting such an exorbitant amount of money on shoes. As with all happy endings, Carrie’s friend does eventually replace the stolen silver stilettos with a new pair.
Get your own pair of stilettos in silver from heels.com and make sure not to take them off at parties. You never know where your shoes might end up!
