Charles Malka, the President and CEO of Charles David is the mastermind behind affordable luxury. Born and raised in Morocco, Charles received his shoe education via France where he was employed by the Moroccan division of BATA, which at the time was the largest chain of shoe stores in Paris. It was here that he schooled himself in shoe design, craft, and distribution. The charming Malka explains, “I quit school at 13. I told my father I wanted to educate myself. By coincidence I accepted a position with a shoe brand and from then on shoes were in my blood.”
