Fashion royalty seems to have hit the runway in Paris this past week. Rapper Kanye West has debuted his very own shoe line, after admitting that he himself has about 450 pairs of shoes (I am but a novice compared to that). West has partnered up with Louis Vuitton and designed a line of sneakers that is sure to cost a little more than your Nike shox or your Puma cells.

On his own personal blog he states that he’d like to be referred to as Martin Louis the King, Jr. from here on out. I am making a similar face of confusion as you right now.

Name calling aside, West said that he was contacted by the head honchos at
Louis Vuitton about collaborating. “They chose to contact me,” he said. “Who wouldn’t want to work with Louis Vuitton? They’re the number-one luxury brand. It lets people know you like nice things.” And does he ever? With album sales and numbers totaling in the millions, West must be used to “nice things.”

The two came together to debut West’s line at Paris Fashion Week. We wish all the best to Kanye West, who has recently had to accept both his mother’s death and the demise of his engagement. Keep a lookout for Kanye’s (or Martin Louis the King, Jr.’s) shoes, as they will be available in Louis Vuitton stores come this June.
