Barack, Malia, Sasha, and Michelle Obama’s shoe choices for Election night
Michelle Obama’s fashion and the fashion of the whole Obama family is sure to peak the interest of fashion enthusiasts everywhere. Malia and Sasha will also get some of the attention and maybe even Barack himself. But let us focus on what to expect from Michelle Obama, as the office of the First Lady is always critiqued just as much for style and fashion and politics and talking points.
She is one of the most fashion concious First Ladies that the US will have seen for some time now. She has a definite style and is aware of how her wardrobe choices impact the greater fashion community.
She chooses American designers that are some of the best in the world as well as some newer designers that gain a lot of publicity when worn by the First Lady. She also wears plenty of off-the-rack choices, showing her everyday woman side. So far she has impressed us with her classic and at times minimalist style. She shows an appreciation for high fashion while keeping things simple, modern, and sleek.
Her style has been constant in her shoe choice as well, through the primary and election calendar. Michell Obama has worn black and silver flats on many occasions. Her choice to wear flats so often is probably a good thing, considering she may tower over Barrack Obama if she opts for anything over 2 inches. This again echoes a practical yet fashion aware style from Michelle. She has also opted for shorter kitten heels on occasion. She wore green Jimmy Choo glacier pumps during the Inauguration.
And, as she told Jay Leno is the video below, she sometimes does her own shopping from the comfort of home (although now that home is slightly larger). We will keep an eye out and let you know ifgets any order requests for a Michelle Obama at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Let us know what you want to know about Michelle Obama’s fashion choices of the next 4 years, far beyond Inauguration Day alone. We are sure she will be a common topic here at High.Heels.com.
