The red carpet at last night’s Emmy Awards was a little extra red, with stars strutting the carpet in this hot hue. From Nina Dobrev in DKNY to Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang, the red carpet was on fire with this season’s leading ladies. Even popular E! host Giuliana Rancic was rocking the red carpet in a gorgeous Roberto Cavalli during the pre-show. Make a style statement worthy of an award of your own in one of these stunning red heels from heels.com this season.

Alex Adams says...
I noticed the same thing while watching the Emmys. Red has always been that attention-grabbing color, and for some reason this year so many stars decided to take advantage of that. A red heel has to be the most signature, attention-getting statement to add to an outfit. Take the most practical, boring outfit with blue jeans and a plain black top, strap on a pair of red heels, and you have an OUTFIT. I like the idea of the post, red seems to be this year’s color!
However, I think it’s hard sometimes to create a pair of nice red heels without making them look a little trashy. The material definitely matters, as it does with most shoes. The particular hue of red also makes a big difference. The Michael Antonio heel you posted has the perfect red hue. Not bright enough to make it awkwardly orange, and not too dark to allude to a deep, Christmas red. The black seem separating the platform and the texture next to the heel give it just enough tweak to distinguish it from every other peep-toe pump.
