With all the awards going on around this time of year, there are many red carpets to be walked upon. Furthermore, upon those red carpets come many top notch gowns and more importantly top notch footwear.
The 2009 Grammy Awards were presented this past Sunday and while there were certainly an abundance of fabulous and gorgy dresses, no shoe should be left behind in the ranks of beauty.
Taking a gander at the masterpieces from head to toe this past Sunday, I chose a few pairs of shoes that really struck me as either true classics and/or unique footwear. Both though attracting my shoe radar from thousands of miles away!
A favorite of mine was certainly Kim Kardashian’s silver satin open toed number. Check out the divine height of those heels! While I question HER attendance at the Grammys, I certainly understand her fabulous choice in shoe wear.
Another classy choice was Jennifer Hudson’s suede round toe navy blue pump. Navy blue is a daring choice for an award show as this, seeing as it usually is a color reserved for politicians and navy seals, but she pulled it off, and remarkably well. Kudos!
A third basic option that I particularly liked was the Welsh singer Duffy’s leather round toe black pump. It was simple, sophisticated and absolutely stunning. It finished off her already gorgeous ensemble perfectly. Her shoes certainly had me begging for “Mercy.”
Finally, while I can’t say that the dress was anything to be desired, Paris Hilton’s dark silver glittery pumps were kinda fun this year. They weren’t too over the top (certainly as the dress was), but they looked great below her tan legs. And had she chosen maybe a basic black cocktail dress (my choice at least), the shoes would have stood out even more.
