As I zip past commercials on my DVR to get to more Gossip Girl, I keep can’t help stopping to watch the ads for the new Isla Fisher movie Confessions of a Shopaholic which opens today. If the trailer and the ads are any indication, looks like we’re in for some great shopping porn. (If my husband is smart he’ll take me to this movie on Valentine’s Day. Nothing turns me on like a vicarious reckless shopping spree.)
Here’s a confession from this shopaholic: Twice in the last month I’ve exceeded my discretionary fund before payday. I’m having a hard time resisting the sales sales sales everywhere! Last weekend I was in New York and hit some Manhattan boutiques–even the spring new arrivals were 20% off. Winter items were discounted more like 70%. And it was easy to get attention from eager shopgirls who offered additional discounts as they brought item after item to my dressing room.
How about you? Are the sale signs wooing you? Do bargains make you giddy? Do you plan your upcoming payday purchases in advance? Have you walked a mile or two in Rebecca Bloomwood’s fashionable pink stilettos? I’m certianly not excited about the bad economy–but it’s really a great time to be a shopper.
P.S. If, like me, you’re also dying for an affordable version of Rebecca’s pink pumps here are four great options. All on sale, of course.
