First we explored Alice’s shoes for an adventure in Wonderland… and no story is complete without the wicked styling of the villianess.

While Disney didn’t make the Queen of Hearts too stylish, in my imagination, she runs Wonderland with a stiletto heel to match her croquette mallet.

Our delightful Queen would love these Patty Pumps by Hollywould. They’re demure and sweet, a tell-tale sign of all the things she is not…

Any righteous queen would know better than to wear her heart on her sleeve, and this queen is no different. Instead, she wears her heart on her (Betseyville) shoe, perfect for tearing after those who don’t abide by her rules…

For long summer days out on the croquette field, a sharp stiletto won’t work. Afterall, what woman wants her heel sinking in to the ground with each step she takes? These wedges also by Betseyville will prevent sinking and other unflattering activities.
What do you think, ladies of the court? Does Heels.com offer any other queenly inspired shoes for the one dearest to our heart?
Like many of the Heels.com bloggers, I’ve always been a big fan of Alice in Wonderland. A tale that is really more for adults that children, it’s whimsical, dark, adventurous, and more. It inspires me so much, that a group of friends & I dressed the parts for Halloween one year!

Being quite the Alice fan herself, I could see our girl romping through wonderland in these beautiful black & white heels by L.A.M.B. Equal part school girl and harajuku girl, they’re perfect for the modern Alice skipping through her favorite wonderland.

For a girl who spends her time chasing rabbits, falling down rabbit holes, outgrowing houses, and playing chess and croquette, a secure pair of shoes will do her more than good. These Manica heels by Jessica Simpson are a modern day mary jane with a square toe and thick buckled strap. Because Alice has more on her mind than what to do when she loses a shoe.

All that running can wreck havoc on a girl’s feet, and perhaps a stiletto isn’t the best bet for our dear dreamer. Luckily, BCBG Girls Mosh has an excellent wedge that makes those escapades a bit easier on the toes…

Though arguably, with the time period Alice was written in, I think my favorite choice may be the Betsey Johnson Nyla heel. With an oversized button and a scalloped front, I may have to get these for my next Alice costume…

While some may argue that the official shoe of Summer is either the flip flop or the sandal, I have to offer a rebuttal and go with the espadrille. What screams warm sun, cool breezes and a fabulous pedicure, more than those wedged rope heels.
You can get open toed espadrilles or close toed. You can get a heel with only an inch or two, or ones with three or more. There are slingback espadrilles and ankle strapped espadrilles. There is a whole world of espadrilles out there, just waiting for you to discover it!
Luckily I have brought it forth to you and made it easier for you to realize how absolutely perfect the espadrille is to have during the Summer season. They look like perfection with denim skirts, capris and shorts. The rope heel gives a vintage and rustic look when aside denim. This allows you to wear a comfortable and cool look all through Summer.

How sweet are these Mia Rose Wedge Espadrilles? Matched up with a short denim skirt and you have a cute farmer girl meets LA diva look going on.

Or pair these Hollywould Callie Wedge Espadrilles up with a wide leg pair of denim jeans. You can still appear elegant with the gold tone, but casual with the smaller wedge and slip-on appeal.
If you already know how great the espadrille is, then I say “whoo-hoo” to you, but for all of those out there that were either clueless or hesitant to make the commitment with an espadrille. Now is your time. Summer is only a few weeks away, so start scoping out your espadrille options now. FYI: Heels.com features pages of the riveting rope wonders!
